We hope that observation, from a review of our anthology Shore Stories, also rings true for our endeavors as a trade publisher. It’s what we strive for.

Since 1984, Down The Shore Publishing has offered coastal residents and visitors an increasing variety of quality regional titles. We began with a single calendar, the first Down The Shore Calendar, for 1985. Since that time, we’ve become a dedicated publisher of books — including regional history, literature, pictorial works and gift books — as well as calendars, notecards, and videos.

We’ve been fortunate to attract talented writers, editors, artists and photographers, and our titles have become touchstones and valuable references about the Shore. In our publishing, integrity and quality in content combine with attractive design.

We were the first publisher of quality books about the New Jersey Shore, our primary focus. This coastline is intimately connected to the emotions and memories of not only New Jerseyans, but also so many from New York, Philadelphia and far beyond who have left their footprints at the Jersey Shore. Our titles make that connection, whether at the Shore or at home in the suburbs or city.
