Six Miles At Sea, Long Beach Island's comprehensive film history, is based on historian and writer John Bailey Lloyd’s engaging companion books, Eighteen Miles of History and Six Miles at Sea. This video documentary vividly details more than two hundred years of local history.

Within the film, John Bailey Lloyd captivates by sharing historical accounts and details gained from years of research. Guil Fisher, former director of Beach Haven’s Surflight Theatre, narrates throughout. 

Diaries, personal stories, archival and family photographs and other long-forgotten images — with period music played exclusively by local musicians — add to this extraordinarily moving portrait of a grand old island.
